Captain America Comics #1 (Timely, 1941) CGC Qualified VG 4.0 Off-White to White Pages. An unrestored copy that was given a green label because of a "married" centerfold (meaning an original centerfold from a different copy of the issue was merged with this copy). We expect very strong interest, since nobody seems to be selling a Cap #1 these days, and everyone seems to want to buy one! This is the origin and first appearance of Captain America and Bucky, and the first appearance of the Red Skull. It's ranked among the top 10 most valuable comics in the hobby, and we give it a good chance to move up from its current position at #8, mostly owing to the classic cover featuring Hitler. Joe Simon and Jack Kirby cover and art. This one presents very nicely in the holder, and we should point out that a blue-label 4.0 probably can't be had for under six figures, so we recommend giving this one your full consideration. CGC notes, "Married centerfold. (Tape on centerfold.)". Overstreet 2017 VG 4.0 value = $42,000. CGC census 2/18: 3 in 4.0, 49 higher.
