Batman #39 (DC, 1947) CGC VF- 7.5 Cream to off-white pages. The early Batman issues are always desirable, but particularly when they feature the Caped Crusader's classic villains. In this case it's Catwoman who makes an always welcome appearance, which is even mentioned on the cover. Jack Burnley provides a somewhat wacky cover image our pointy-eared hero showing some ineptitude while ice skating. Bob Kane, Ray Burnley, C. C. Beck, and Henry Boltinoff handle the interior art chores. Overstreet 2004 VF 8.0 value = $700. CGC census 1/05: 1 in 7.5, 13 higher.
