Batman #23 (DC, 1944) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white to white pages. An impossible copy of an issue with a black cover that is quite a find in itself, but this one has the highest grade yet assigned (most probably ever) by CGC, and it has the added bonus of having one of the best covers of the series' entire run, drawn by Batman artist extraordinaire Dick Sprang. Naturally, the Jocund Jack-Of-All-Crimes, the Joker, appears inside the issue as well, with the story title "The Upside Down Crimes" telling you all you need to know about the theme for his latest string of misdeeds. The issue's interior art is by Sprang and Jerry Robinson. Overstreet 2014 NM- 9.2 value = $5,300. CGC census 5/15: 2 in 9.6, none higher.

View the certification for CGC Certification ID 90731001 and purchase grader's notes if available.
