Batman #16 (DC, 1943) CGC FN 6.0 Off-white to white pages. The origin and first appearance of the consummate gentleman's butler Alfred occurred right here along with a jocular Joker appearance. Jerry Robinson did the cover art chores (the very first small logo cover, by the way) and interior art. Bob Kane and Jack Burnley also contributed. A spine split at the top keeps this copy from a much loftier grade. Overstreet 2014 FN 6.0 value = $1,896. CGC census 8/14: 9 in 6.0, 27 higher. From the Down Under Collection.
