    Batman #12 (DC, 1942) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white to white pages. The only higher-graded copy in CGC's census is a barely nicer NM- 9.2. Jerry Robinson was responsible for the War Savings Bonds cover, and he also did some of the story art, along with Bob Kane and Jack Burnley. The Joker appeared in this issue, and there also was the first mention of the "secret underground hangars" that ultimately became the Batcave. Overstreet 2019 VF/NM 9.0 value = $4,762; NM- 9.2 value = $6,800. CGC census 10/19: 5 in 9.0, 1 higher. From the Wartime Comic Find, an Original Owner Collection.
