    Description

Batman #1 (DC, 1940) CGC VG 4.0 Off-white to white pages. Batman's first solo book! It presents very well in its CGC holder. The seminal book also features the first appearances of that jocular jester of injustice -- the Joker, and the Cat (soon to be known as Catwoman). Hugo Strange also makes an appearance. The cover and art are by Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson, with co-bat-creator Bill Finger writing the story. Currently ranked at #4 on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list. Overstreet 2019 VG 4.0 value = $110,600. CGC census 11/19: 12 in 4.0, 35 higher. From the Sun City Collection, an Original Owner Collection from El Paso, Texas.
