    Description

Batman #1 (DC, 1940) CGC VG- 3.5 Cream to off-white pages. A high percentage of the copies we see of this key issue are restored or coverless. This is just the third unrestored copy we've seen in the past year. The first appearances of the Joker and the Cat (aka Catwoman) were highlights of the premiere eponymous issue, which came about because fans just couldn't get enough of the Caped Crusader from the pages of Detective Comics where he had debuted just one year earlier. Currently ranked #5 on Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics list by value, it could be #4 in the near future. Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson classic cover and art. Overstreet 2017 VG 4.0 value = $80,000. CGC census 2/18: 8 in 3.5, 41 higher.
