    Description

All-American Comics #61 The Promise Collection Pedigree (DC, 1944) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white to white pages. This issue presents the origin and first appearance of Solomon Grundy, a character that is now firmly ensconced as one of DC's most loved (and despised) super-villains. The Overstreet "classic" cover is by Paul Reinman. Issue #61 is listed in Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics. Just one copy has eclipsed the grade of this absolute stunner of a book to date. It's worthy of noting that in August of last year, a FN/VF 7.0 copy of #61 sold for an impressive $30,500, so expect big numbers when this astounding copy crosses the auction block. Overstreet 2020 NM- 9.2 value = $42,000. CGC census 6/21: 1 in 9.6, 1 higher.
