Description

Smash Comics #1 (Quality, 1939) CGC VG/FN 5.0. Quality's first comic book (Feature Comics #1) had been issued just two months earlier when the premiere issue of Smash hit the newsstands. It was bound to be a success, with a robot and a gorilla gracing the cover. In fact, this was the first robot cover in comic book history! Art by Will Eisner further ensured the new title's success - it would run for over 10 years. A Gerber "scarce", and that's verified by how high this mid-grade copy ranks gradewise in CGC's census. Overstreet 2005 VG 4.0 value = $606; FN 6.0 value = $909. CGC census 7/05: 1 in 5.0, 4 higher.
