Description
M.D. #1 Gaines File Pedigree 10/12 (EC, 1955) CGC NM 9.4 White pages. A bellwether of EC's "New Direction" line, M.D. was the sixth title to be released in the publisher's attempt to renew their offerings in the wake of the founding of the Comics Code Authority. This comic is notably without the CCA's seal, having not been submitted or approved, and was the only issue of the short-lived title to go without one, as wholesalers had begun to refuse carrying books sans seals. Johnny Craig provided the cover, with interior art by Reed Crandall, George Evans, Graham Ingles, and Joe Orlando. Overstreet 2024 NM- 9.2 value = $450.
