Description
Boy Explorers Comics #2 (Harvey, 1946) Condition: NM-. Gerber rates this issue an "8" ("rare") in its Scarcity Index. This Simon and Kirby issue is a 32-pager measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. It never even hit newsstands -- as the publisher's note explains, "For the present emergency, newsstand sales will be temporarily discontinued and subscribers alone will receive copies of these issues." The "emergency" was simply that after paper rationing was discontinued, the major publishers flooded the market with comic series in an effort to squeeze out competition, and newsdealers only had room for top sellers. This is undoubtedly one of the toughest items to find for the Jack Kirby completist! Overstreet 2021 NM- 9.2 value = $2,450.More Information: EDIT: Added more information on the scarcity.
