    Description

Action Comics #5 (DC, 1938) CBCS GD/VG 3.0 Off-white to white pages. Superman made just his fifth appearance in this issue, supported by adventure and detective stories. The Leo E. O'Mealia cover portrays a bleak Sahara-like combat scene, with slim chance of a good outcome for our main character. Joe Shuster, Fred Guardineer, and Bernard Baily art fills the interior of this "Super"-early DC issue. Gerber's The Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books lists this book as "rare" and to date, less than 20 copies have received a higher grade from CGC. Overstreet 2017 GD 2.0 value = $3,543; VG 4.0 value = $7,086.
