Action Comics #3 (DC, 1938) CGC FR 1.0 Off-white to white pages. The third appearance of Superman comes in this issue, and it's just the fourth blue-label copy we've ever offered. It's not surprising that Overstreet refers to this issue as "scarce," and that Gerber's Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books gives it a "rare" rating -- this is only the fourth time we've ever offered a Universal grade copy of this artifact! Any way you look at it, this is a key issue of comicdom's most important title. It ranks among the top 40 of Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics. Cover art by Leo O'Mealia. CGC notes, "Piece missing from margin of 1st 3 pages." Overstreet 2012 GD 2.0 value = $4,118. CGC census 5/13: 2 in 1.0, 10 higher.
