    Description

Action Comics #23 (DC, 1940) CGC VF+ 8.5 Cream to off-white pages. This issue heralded the first appearance of one of the greatest super-villains of all time, Lex Luthor (who actually appears with red hair). It's also the first mention of the Clark Kent's employer for the next 75 years, The Daily Planet. Joe Shuster provided the cover and interior art for the book, and Sheldon Moldoff, Bernard Baily, and Fred Guardineer also contributed interior art. A lovely specimen of this early Superman book that is currently topped by none! Overstreet 2015 VF 8.0 value = $12,000; VF/NM 9.0 value = $21,000. CGC census 8/15: 2 in 8.5, none higher.

View the certification for CGC Certification ID 701381002 and purchase grader's notes if available.
