Description

The Amazing Spider-Man #129 (Marvel, 1974) CGC NM/MT 9.8 White pages. You're not going to find a nicer copy of one of the most important Marvel comics of the 1970s, the first appearance of the Punisher, at least not according to CGC, who has yet to certify a higher graded copy than this one! And high grade copies of this book can be difficult to come by, due to a centering problem on many copies, and the fact that the black "The Punisher!" field, above the image of Spidey, tended to smudge easily. Since the Punisher is still as popular as ever, demand for this book can only increase with the passage of time. Of course, we'd be remiss if we didn't note that this is also the first appearance of the villainous Jackal. The story's by the creative team of writer Gerry Conway and artist Ross Andru. The cover is a typically eye-catching number by Gil Kane. Overstreet 2010 NM- 9.2 value = $900. CGC census 10/10: 29 in 9.8, none higher.
