    Description

The Amazing Spider-Man #101 (Marvel, 1971) CGC NM/MT 9.8 Off-white to white pages. A memorable issue that many a collector would love to have in this grade! Did you know that this is the first time a vampire appeared in a Code-approved comic book? It's Morbius the Living Vampire to be precise, and Marvel rushed him out the instant the Code relaxed its standards to allow this. Another big deal: issue #101 also marked the first time that anyone but Stan Lee had scripted this series. Luckily the new guy was himself one of the best writers in comics history, namely Roy Thomas. As if all of that weren't enough, Spider-Man begins the issue with six arms! Gil Kane cover art. Overstreet 2011 NM- 9.2 value = $375. CGC census 8/11: 9 in 9.8, none higher. From the Edward M. Sarley Collection.
