    Description

Secrets Behind The Comics #nn (Stan Lee, 1947) CGC FN/VF 7.0 White pages. Stan Lee was only in his mid-twenties when he wrote this book, yet as it proclaims, "He has been in complete charge of more comic magazines than any other living editor." This book was advertised in Timely comics upon publication. It has a two-color paper cover. It's not a comic, though it is hand-lettered in true comic style. Smilin' Stan's text is primarily illustrated by Ken Bald. The book has tons of great features including a profile on Syd Shores (with four pages of his Blonde Phantom reproduced), and art by Mike Sekowsky, Basil Wolverton, and Al Jaffee. Overstreet 2019 FN 6.0 value = $387; VF 8.0 value = $826. CGC census 11/19: 3 in 7.0, 2 higher.
