    Description

Robert A. Heinlein - "The Star Beast," First Edition (Charles Scribners Sons, 1954) This copy is a first edition (with the letter "A" on the copyright page as called for). A stamp on the back endpapers indicates that at one time this book was housed in the collection of Donald A. Wollheim. A specially made box and slipcase were crafted to protect the book, which is in Excellent condition with an Excellent condition dust jacket. Heinlein's science fiction tale, The Star Beast, focuses on an alien creature who was smuggled back to Earth as a pet, where it lives for over a hundred years and is raised by several generations of the Thomas family. One day "Lummox," the Star Beast, takes a walk through town, and unintentionally wreaks mayhem in the neighborhood. Although the Star Beast is a gentle soul, his appearance frightens those he comes in contact with. As a result, John Thomas finds himself in trouble with his mother and the law, and has only his girlfriend to help him.
