Signed on recto of front flyleaf. Octavo. [2, inserted signature leaf], 288 pages. Publisher's one-quarter black cloth over grayish cloth-covered boards, spine lettered in gilt; all edges trimmed; original illustrated dust jacket. Spine ends softened, bottom pushed; just a trace of rubbing at joints; minimal shelf wear and bumping along bottom edge; tiny amount of wear at corners. Typical age yellowing to edges of text block and endpapers; very mild discoloration at joints; small paper label tipped to front free endpaper. Jacket just a touch pushed at ends of spine panel with short, soft crease at head of front flap, else pristine.
