[6], 296, [8, ads] pages. Sepia frontispiece by J. Allen St. John. Publisher's full red cloth, front and spine lettered and ruled in gilt, first issue with publisher on three lines at base of spine; all edges trimmed; original illustrated jacket. Minimal shelf wear at extremities of binding; spine ends just starting to soften. Normal age toning to text block. Occasional faint thumbsoiling scattered at margins throughout. Barely perceptible archival paper repairs at top of spine, bottom of rear panel, and both ends of rear flap fold of jacket; tiny amount of nicking starting at base of spine panel; general light rubbing and thumbsoiling to exposed panels. Near fine. Originally published serially in 1913-1914. Currey, p. 94; Zeuschner (2016), p. 514-515.
