Edgar Rice Burroughs. The Moon Maid. Chicago: A. C. McClurg & Co., 1926. First edition. Octavo (7.25 x 4.875 inches, 181 x 122 mm.). [8], 412 pages. Frontispiece by J. Allen St. John. Publisher's full blue cloth, front and spine lettered in black; all edges trimmed; original illustrated dust jacket. Minimal shelf wear to binding; spine ends just a bit softened; black lettering just a touch discolored. Normal mild age toning to text block; handful of small surface scratches to edges; top faintly dust-soiled; rubbing at bottom corner. Very slight discoloration at rear endpapers. Minor edge wear at spine and fold ends of jacket, with a couple of tiny tears at joint ends; front joint sunned, with a tiny gouge at top half; light rubbing and thumbsoiling to spine and rear panel; some soft creasing at joints and flap folds; short tear at bottom of front panel, one half-inch, and a longer one at bottom of rear panel, approximately 1.25 inches. Near fine with a clean, bright interior. Each of its three parts originally appeared in serial format in Argosy All-Story Weekly. This marks the stories' first appearance in book form, heavily edited down from their original publication. Currey, p. 90; Zeuschner (2016), p. 203-205.
