Frontispiece and four additional inserted plates by J. Allen St. John. Publisher's blue cloth, spine and front lettered in red; top edge of text block trimmed and stained red; original illustrated dust jacket. Foot of spine pushed and showing a tiny bit of wear; minor wear along joints; boards speckled with pale soiling or discoloration; light wear along bottom edges of boards. Endpapers discolored from exposure to one another, slightly foxed; ownership stamps at both free endpapers; bookseller's price sticker at front free endpaper. Text block yellowed with age; top edge dust-soiled. Mild edge wear to dust jacket resulting in nicking; spine panel sunned; short tear starting at foot of front panel fold; general soft creasing; front flap rippled; foxing at verso; single piece of clear tape reinforcement at bottom edge of spine panel verso.
