Color frontispiece and four additional black-and-white plates by John Coleman Burroughs. Publisher's blue cloth, spine and front lettered in red; top edge trimmed and stained red; original illustrated dust jacket. Spine ends crimped and a bit worn; light wear along joints, top and bottom edges of boards; a few soft bumps along edges and at corners of boards. Text block softly yellowed with age; handful of small abrasions visible at topstain. Jacket very slightly rubbed; with wear and minimal nicking at spine and flap fold ends; mild residue and discoloration from previous tape reinforcements at rectos of spine and flap fold ends. Fore-edge of text block very faintly yellowed; tiny amount of faint foxing at front hinge. Near fine. Zeuschner, p. 347.
