Frontispiece and four additional inserted plates by John Coleman Burroughs. Publisher's blue cloth, spine and front stamped in red; top edge trimmed and stained red; two original illustrated dust jackets, one each in laminated and unlaminated states. Pale spots of soiling to cloth; minor shelf wear. Faint discoloration to endpapers; previous owner signature at front free endpaper. Text block softly dulled, with foxing and a small area of discoloration at fore-edge. Mild edge wear to jackets; laminated jacket price-clipped, with a bit of foxing at verso. Very Good. Publisher's green cloth, spine lettered in black; all text block edges trimmed; original illustrated dust jacket. Spine slightly skewed; spine ends pushed and a bit worn; fairly minor soiling to cloth, particularly along backstrip and joints. Some soiling and foxing to endpapers. Text block dulled, with foxing at edges. Chipping at head of jacket spine panel, with nicking at foot of spine and flap fold ends; residue and discoloration from tape used to reinforce wear, chips, and short tears along top edge of jacket, as well as at middle of spine panel recto; mild soiling and rubbing to exposed panels; folds creased; staining at flaps where they appear to have been affixed to something (no evidence that they were affixed to endpapers). Very Good book in a good jacket.
