    Edgar Rice Burroughs. A Fighting Man of Mars. New York: Metropolitan Books, Inc., 1931. First edition. Octavo. 319, [1] pages. Publisher's full red cloth, front and spine lettered in green; all edges trimmed, top edge stained green; original illustrated dust jacket. Fairly mild shelf wear to binding; spine ends pushed and just starting to fray; slight soiling to boards. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block; top edge a bit dusty with some scratches; a tiny amount of soiling to other edges. A bit of light, marginal soiling scattered occasionally throughout. Minimal edge wear to jacket; light rubbing to exposed panels; soft creasing at flap folds with one vertical crease along spine panel. Near fine. Publisher's full blue cloth, front and spine lettered in red; all edges trimmed; original illustrated dust jacket. Spine skewed; fair amount of shelf wear to binding; discoloration along board edges and at backstrip; spine ends pushed; slight bumping to corners; general rubbing and a few small abrasions to boards. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block; text block edges slightly rubbed, roughened and soiled. Occasional specks of foxing scattered throughout, primarily at endpapers; previous owner inscription at title-page. Dust jacket heavily restored and color corrected, with repairs of several large chips and tears visible at verso; soft creasing. Old tape repairs also visible at verso, integrated into later restorations. About very good. From the Glynn and Suzanne Crain Collection.

Publisher's full blue cloth, front and spine lettered in red; top edge trimmed and stained red, others untrimmed; original illustrated dust jacket, laminated issue. Minimal shelf at extremities of binding; a bit of light soiling to cloth. Normal age toning to edges and interior of text block. Occasional marginal foxing scattered throughout; fairly mild discoloration to endpapers; bookseller's ticket at rear pastedown. Jacket toned with a bit of wear at spine and flap fold ends. Faint rubbing and light foxing at verso. Near fine. Currey, p. 91. From the Glynn and Suzanne Crain Collection.
