Edgar R. Burroughs - "The Girl From Farris's" - First Edition (House of Greystoke, 1965) Condition: VF. Best known as the creator of Tarzan and John Carter of Mars, Edgar Rice Burroughs could cover a wide field in his literary endeavors. For example, this fascinating novel examines the life and trials of a remarkable heroine who happens to be a member of "the oldest profession in the world." This particular example of the novel is an extremely rare example, inscribed by the publisher Vernell Coriell with the following message: (on the back endpaper) "This is one of 50 copies of 'The Girl From Farris's' bound in blue denim especially for friends who have helped make The Burroughs Bulletin, The Burroughs Bibliophiles, and the House of Greystoke possible -- but more important -- who were among the very few to keep the spirit of Edgar Rice Burroughs alive during the dark days following the birth of the atomic age -- thanks a million." There is a second personalized inscription on the front flyleaf. The book has the added attraction of a frontispiece illustration by Frank Frazetta. The book is in overall excellent condition; clean and solid with no significant flaws. A rare and handsome publication, signed and inscribed by one of ERB's most loyal and dedicated fans!
