Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Production Painted Background (Walt Disney, 1968). In this, the second Pooh theatrical film, Christopher Robin decides to throw a hero party at the film's finale, as he believes Pooh has just saved Piglet. When Piglet gives his home to Owl, Pooh asks Christopher Robin to make it a "Two Hero Party!" Here is a very rare one-of-a-kind production background from this Academy Award-winning animated short directed by Woolie Reitherman and released on 12/20/68. The gouache and ink painting measures 16.5" x 10" on 17.75" x 14" illustration board and includes both a hand-painted overlay cel and a black key line cel. There is a label beneath the art marked "Opening Scene" and assorted production and sequence numbers are handwritten along the top and bottom borders. Original backgrounds from the early Pooh featurettes are incredibly scarce and a fully intact background with overlay cels is an exceptional find. Minor handling, edge wear and tape; otherwise, Condition is Very Good.
