Who Framed Roger Rabbit/Somethin's Cookin' Baby Herman and Roger Rabbit Production Cel Setup (Touchstone/Amblin, 1988). "CUT!" "What the hell was wrong with that take?" "Nothing Baby Herman. You were great, you were perfect, better than perfect. It's Roger, he keeps blowing his lines!" says Baby Herman and the cartoon's director, in this fantastic "Somethin' s Cookin'" Maroon Cartoon opening sequence. This is a superb original hand-painted production cel of Roger Rabbit and Baby Herman. When the refrigerator drops on Roger's head and the door is opened, he has a flock of little birds flying around his head -- they should have been stars, not tweeting birds, Roger! A great two-character cel, with nice images measuring 5". The cels feature a Disney seal, and are on a black and white photo background from the scene. Matted with an opening of 16" x 11", and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 23" x 17.5". Frame is sold as-is. Cel condition is Very Good.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
