    Description

Walt Peregoy Chanticleer Concept Art (Walt Disney, c. 1960s) This project may be one of the most started-and-stopped animated features in Disney Studio history. Disney Studios originally began work on it in the 1930s but stopped. It was revived in 1941, '45, '47 and once more in the 1960s. This on-again, off-again project is highlighted in the Charles Solomon book The Disney That Never Was. This is a concept painting by Disney Legend Inductee Walt Peregoy of a background in the village, a stunning pastel on light board measuring 15" x 17". It is signed on the bottom border by the artist, Walt Peregoy (1925 - 2015). Just as with the canceled project, some of this work went unfinished. It is matted with an opening of 12" x 15", in an overall mat of 20" x 24". There is some surface dirt on the top mat; otherwise, Very Good condition.
