Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color Ludwig Von Drake Production Cel (Walt Disney, c. 1960s). "Hello, 'dere! And welcome to da Von Drake House of Genius!" Ludwig Von Drake made his debut as a host of "An Adventure in Color", part of the first episode of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color on 9/24/61. He was the first Disney animated character created specifically for television. For the segment Walt Disney put his best foot forward, enlisting the help of seven of his Nine Old Men: Ollie Johnston, Eric Larson, Ward Kimball, Les Clark, Frank Thomas, John Lounsbery and Mil Kahl. With a lineup like that, Ludwig shines in his role as host of Wonderful World of Color. The loony lecturer is featured here in this fantastic hand-painted original production cel. He measures 6.5" tall on the 16 field 3-peghole cel, and the cel is taped to a printed background for presentation purposes. The cel is numbered 45 in the lower right corner, and it shows minor handling and edge wear. Ludwig is missing two small spots of paint, otherwise, the condition is Very Good.
