    Walt Disney's Uncle Remus Brer Rabbit and Brer Bear Pages 6-7 Illustration by Bob Grant (Walt Disney/Simon & Schuster, 1948). "Howdy-do, Brer Bear!" calls out Brer Rabbit in this 1948 Little Golden Book illustration. This original painting appears on pages 6 and 7. The artwork is by Bob Grant (1916 - 1968), who was one of the Disney Studio's newspaper comic strip artists, working on "Pluto" and "Little Hiawatha" storylines in the Sunday Silly Symphonies strip, and the daily Scamp strip. He also drew a number of "funny animal" titles for Dell Comics in the early 1950s. This illustration is in watercolor/gouache on board. The painting is matted with an opening of 12.25" x 5.5", and framed using glass for an overall size of 19" x 12.25". Frame is sold as-is. Art condition is Fine.
