Virgil Ross - Tweety, Sylvester, and Hector Bulldog Pan Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s).
"Uh oh -- all out of piddies!" A blue cap-wearing Tweety is about to send Sylvester down to a waiting Hector the Bulldog, in this wonderful vertical pan illustration. This is an original drawing by longtime Warner Brothers animator, Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996). Mr. Ross was known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. This signed piece is on animation paper measuring 13.5" x 22", with image sizes of 2", 7", and 4". Condition is Fine.
