Virgil Ross - Tweety and Sylvester Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s).
This classic image of Sylvester and Tweety was inspired by the 1951 Friz Freleng-directed short "Room and Bird". This one-of-a-kind drawing was originally sketched in graphite and blue pencil by legendary animator Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996) with colored pencil added. Mr. Ross was a longtime member of the Friz Freleng (1906 - 1995) animation unit at Warner Brothers Studio. The image measures approximately 6.5" x 8.5", on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper and is signed by the artist. . Drawings of this type were sold at personal appearances by Mr. Ross at Warner Brothers Studio Store Galleries and Animation Art Galleries, where he promoted a unique line of hand-painted limited edition cels. A ltd edition sericel of this very scene actually went into production in 1991 and only 250 were ever printed. Minor handling and edge wear. Condition is Fine.
