Virgil Ross - The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who Drawing (MGM, c. 1990s). When Virgil Ross left Warner Brothers after 30 years of service, he worked for a variety of animation studios including Marvel, Filmation, Hanna-Barbera and even Ralph Bakshi. He was the recipient of the Winsor McCay Award in 1988 which is roundly considered one of the the highest honors in the animation industry. This is an original one-of-a-kind drawing of Dr. Seuss' classic holiday characters The Grinch and Cindy Lou Who. The 9" x 6.5" image was originally rendered on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper in graphite and blue pencil and signed by artist Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996) with colored pencil was added afterwards. This art was created and sold during personal appearances at Warner Brothers Studio Stores and Animation Galleries while Mr. Ross promoted his line of hand-painted limited edition cels. This is an adorable image of two very hard to find characters. Minor handling and edge wear. Fine condition.
