Virgil Ross "The Art of Marvin the Martian and K-9" Model Sheet Original Art Group of 2 (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Marvin the Martian and "fugitive from the Dog Star" K-9 made their respective debuts in the 1948 theatrical short Haredevil Hare. These two characters have grown to legendary status in the hearts of Looney Tunes fans. This is a pair of 16 field "Model Sheet" style drawings from the hand of legendary Warner Brothers animator Virgil Ross (1907 -1996). He did these to sell at his personal appearances at Warner Brothers Studio Store Galleries and Animation Art Galleries while promoting his line of hand-painted limited edition cels that featured unique sequences of characters from scenes he had animated. Mr. Ross was a 30-year Warner Brothers animator, with most of his time in the Friz Freleng Unit. Nice images, with sizes of 4" to 6". The Marvin sheet is in graphite over blue pencil; it has five images, while the K-9 sheet, also done in graphite over blue pencil, has six images. Both sheets are individually hand-signed by Mr. Ross. Minor handling and edge wear. Very Good condition.
