    Description

Virgil Ross - Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). The Road Runner (Latin name "Accelleratii Incredibus") and Wile E. Coyote ("Carnivorous Vulgaris") have stopped running around Monument Valley long enough to pose for this 16 field model sheet-style drawing, created by longtime Warner Brothers animator, Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996). Mr. Ross was known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his ability to draw funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Toons scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. This signed piece is on 16 field 5-peghole animation paper and has three images of each character, with sizes that range from 3" to 7". Images drawn in graphite with blue pencil underdrawing. Fine condition.
