DescriptionVirgil Ross - Foghorn Leghorn "Model Sheet" Drawing Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). This blustery rooster first appeared in the cartoon Walky Talky Hawky in 1946. His Southern-accented voice was inspired by radio comedian Kenny Delmar, whose character "Senator Clanghorn" was famous for his blustery "That's a joke, ah say, that's a joke, son" sayings, which Foghorn adopted. This wonderful drawing shows six different full-figure poses of Foggy, created by legendary Warner Brothers animator Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996). Mr. Ross was known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Toons scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. This signed drawing is on 16 field 5-peghole animation paper. Image size 5.5" - 7". Images are in graphite with blue pencil underdrawing. Condition is Fine.
