Virgil Ross - Foghorn Leghorn and Miss Prissy Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). This scene of Miss Prissy and Foghorn was inspired by the 1951 short Lovelorn Leghorn directed by Robert McKimson. Virgil Ross (1907-1996) was a longtime Warner Brothers animator who was known for his action and dance sequences as well as his funny facial expressions. He animated on three Looney Tunes shorts that received Academy Award nominations and was a recipient of the prestigious Windsor McCay Award. In the '90s he began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels as part of the "Masters Collection" for the Warner Brothers Studio Stores and animation galleries. He began making personal appearances where requests for original artwork were met with drawings such as this. The overall image measures 7" x 11" on 12 field 3-peghole paper and is signed by Virgil Ross. The piece shows minor handling; otherwise condition is Very Good.
