Description

Virgil Ross - Elmer Fudd, Humphrey Bogart, and Bugs Bunny Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Bogey places an order for fried rabbit with waiter Elmer, in this scene inspired by the classic "Old Hollywood" cartoon, Slick Hare. This 1947 Friz Freleng-directed short was in part animated by Virgil Ross, who did the very funny Carmen Miranda dancing sequences -- no one animated a dance better than Ross! His 50-plus years in the business included many Bugs Bunny cartoons for Warner Brothers, and also included stints with Walter Lantz (Oswald the Rabbit shorts), DePatie-Freleng (The Pink Panther Show), Hanna-Barbera (The Flintstones, Smurfs), Filmation (The Archie Show, Star Trek: The Animated Series), as well as freelance work for Ralph Bakshi (Fritz the Cat) and Walt Disney (The Little Mermaid) -- and that's only a small portion of his output. Whew! This is a signed original drawing by Virgil Ross on 12 field animation paper, with image sizes of 4.5", 7.5", and 7". Fine condition.
