    Virgil Ross - Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny Illustration Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Withdrawn. Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996) is credited with animating the very first Bugs Bunny cartoon, A Wild Hare, directed by Tex Avery, which was released in 1940. The short was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Subject: Cartoons. and this image is an homage to the birth of Bugs. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Masters Collection" for sale at the Warner Brothers Studio Stores and animation galleries. He began making personal appearances where requests for original artwork were met with drawings like this. He was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. This is a one-of-a-kind drawing of Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. It was rendered by Mr. Ross in graphite over blue pencil on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper. The overall image measures 8" x 9" and is signed by the artist. Minor handling, condition is Fine.
