    Description

Virgil Ross - Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Elmer as Siegfried and Bugs as Brunnhilde in this drawing inspired by one of the all-time best-loved cartoons ever, What's Opera, Doc? This Chuck Jones-directed short ranks #1 in Jerry Beck's book, The Fifty Greatest Cartoons. The art is by longtime animator Virgil Ross, known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Brothers Studio Stores and animation galleries. This signed piece is drawn on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper, with an overall image measuring 8" x 11.5". Minor handling, condition is Fine.
