    Description

Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny Illustration (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). "There I was, trapped -- surrounded by superior numbers," movie star Bugs relates to gossip queen "Lolly" in this drawing, inspired by the 1947 Friz Freleng short, A Hare Grows in Manhattan. This was one of many cartoons animated by Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996), during his long career with Warner Brothers. In addition to Freleng, Ross also worked in Tex Avery's and Bob Clampett's units, before moving on to Hanna-Barbera and Filmation, plus freelance work at Disney and other studios. This great image of Bugs in his Hollywood trappings was drawn by Virgil Ross on a sheet of 12 field animation paper, with an image size of 8.5". Fine condition. Signed.
