    Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). "How-do! Welcome to my shop. Let cut your mop. Let me shave your crop! Daaaintily... daaaintily." Virgil Ross (1907-1996) was a longtime Warner Brothers animator who worked in the Bob Clampett, Tex Avery, and Friz Freleng Units. He was known for his action sequences and funny facial expressions. He animated on three Looney Tunes shorts that received Academy Award nominations -- Tweety Pie, Birds Anonymous and the only cartoon that Bugs Bunny won an Academy Award for, Knighty Knight Bugs. In 1988 he was the recipient of the Winsor McCay award. This is an original drawing of Bugs Bunny inspired by the 1950 smash hit, The Rabbit of Seville. It features an 11.5" tall image of Bugs as the Barber of Seville rendered in color pencil on 12 field 3-peghole paper and is signed by Virgil Ross. Artwork like this was sold at personal appearances by Mr. Ross to promoted his line of Limited Edition cels at Warner Brothers stores and licensed galleries. The piece shows light handling and condition is Very Good.
