    Virgil Ross Bugs Bunny and the Sheriff of Nottingham (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). "Arise, Sir Loin of Beef!" Virgil Ross (1907-1996) was a long-time Warner Brothers animator who was known for his action and dance sequences as well as his funny facial expressions. He animated on three Looney Tunes shorts that received Academy Award nominations and was a recipient of the prestigious Windsor McCay Award. In the '90s he began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels as part of the "Masters Collection" for the Warner Brothers Studio Stores and animation galleries. He began making personal appearances where requests for original artwork were met with drawings such as this. It's an original drawing of Bugs Bunny, and the Sheriff of Nottingham, inspired by the 1949 classic, Rabbit Hood. The 8" x 11" drawing is on 12 field animation paper, and hand-signed. Minor handling; otherwise, condition is Very Good.
