DescriptionVirgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Tasmanian Devil Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). Withdrawn. "That looks bad -- we'll have to paint it!" Dr. Bugs slaps a fresh coat of green paint on Taz's tongue, in this scene inspired by the final theatrical short to feature the Tasmanian Devil, Dr. Devil and Mr. Hare, directed by Robert McKimson in 1964. This is an original drawing by longtime Warner Brothers animator, Virgil Ross. Mr. Ross was known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Mr. Ross began releasing hand-painted Limited Edition cels of his famous Looney Tunes scenes as part of the "Master's Collection" cels sold at Warner Bros. Studio Stores and animation galleries. This signed piece is drawn on 12 field animation paper, with a combined image area of 8.75" x 8.5". Fine condition.
