    Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Rocky Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s).
    Rocky, an Edward G. Robinson look-alike, pulls a heater on Bugs in this re-created scene from the 1946 short Racketeer Rabbit directed by Friz Freleng. Animator Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996) worked on the first official Bugs Bunny cartoon, A Wild Hare in 1940 and animated for Bob Clampett, Tex Avery, and Friz Freleng while at Warner Brothers. during his long career, Mr. Ross was the recipient of the prestigious Motion Picture Screen Cartoonist Golden Award and the Winsor McCay Award. This remarkable drawing featuring Bugs and Rocky measures 7.5" x 9.5" on 12 field 3-peghole paper and is signed by Virgil Ross. Original drawings like this were offered at personal appearances by Mr. Ross as he promoted his line of Limited Edition cels at Warner Brothers stores and licensed galleries. The piece shows light handling and condition is Very Good.
