DescriptionVirgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). "Oh Brunnhilde, you're so wuvwey!" sings Elmer as Siegfried. "Yes, I know it. I can't help it!" replies Bugs as Brunnhilde. Considered by many as one of the greatest cartoons ever made, this drawing was inspired by the Chuck Jones-directed What's Opera, Doc? (1957). This superb drawing of the "star-crossed lovers" from Wagner's opera is signed by longtime Warner Brothers animator, Virgil Ross. Mr. Ross was known for his action and dance sequences, as well as his funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Original drawings like this were offered at personal appearances by Mr. Ross as he promoted his line of Limited Edition cels at Warner Brothers stores and licensed galleries. This 8" x 9" drawing is on on 12 field 3-peghole animation paper. The piece shows minor handling; otherwise condition is Very Good.
