DescriptionTweety Bird Publicity Cel (Warner Brothers, c. 1970s-80s).
"I tawt I taw a Putty Tat!" are the words of one Tweety Bird. He had his early first appearance in 1941 in Bob Clampett's Caged Canary and then his more formal first appearance in 1942, A Tale of Two Kitties. He was introduced by Bob Clampett, but taken to new heights by director Friz Freleng when he was paired with Sylvester. The first Warner Brothers animation Academy Award was for the 1947 short Tweetie Pie. Tweety would go to star in 47 Golden Age Warner Brothers cartoon shorts. Usually in animation art, Tweety is next to a larger character and is small. This is a great hand-painted studio publicity cel with an adorable large image of Tweety in a nice 5" pose, highlighting his big blue eyes. The piece is in a 19" x 16.5" frame under Plexiglas with an opening of 12" x 9.5". Frame sold as-is. Artwork is in Very Good condition.
