Description

Trader Mickey Native Chief Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1932). Back in the days before Political Correctness, racial stereotypes were quite common in animated cartoons. Here's an original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawing of a wildly-caricatured African native chief, from the Mickey Mouse short directed by Dave Hand, which was released to theaters on 8/20/32. The chief is shown enjoying a copy of Ballyhoo, a popular humor magazine originally published from 1931 until 1939. The art is in graphite, with an image measuring about 4.5"; it's noted with the number 90 in the upper right corner. Minor handling wear; Fine condition.
