    Tom Wood Good Housekeeping "Silly Symphony - Music Land" Original Artwork (Walt Disney, 1935). Music Land was a Silly Symphony short directed by Wilfred Jackson and released on 10/5/35. The short begins by showing a map of Music Land, before zooming in to show the Land of Symphony. Long before Music Land appears as one of the projector transition levels in the 2002 Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two video game it appeared in the August 1935 issue of Good Housekeeping magazine. Offered in this lot is a group five original all in one frame. The artwork was illustrated by Tom Wood (1887 - 1940) based on Music Land. Mr. Wood, was a staff artist with the Disney Publicity Art Department from 1932 to 1940. Between 1934 and 1940, he created promotional text comics based on Disney cartoons for the women's magazine Good Housekeeping. He was also a cover illustrator for Mickey Mouse Magazine. Mr. Wood's artwork was rendered in gouache and ink. The five pieces are framed together in one frame of 28" x 37.5". Frame sold as-is. The adaptation can be seen on page 65 of the 2005 Gemstone Publishing book Walt Disney's Mickey and the Gang. Artwork condition is Fine.
